A significant development in Nigeria–Tanzania relations!

The Tanzania Immigration Services Department has officially announced that Nigerian nationals have been removed from the Referred Visa Category, following amendments published in Government Gazette No. 246 of 2026.

Effective immediately, Nigerian travellers are no longer subject to the additional referred-visa clearance process and may follow Tanzania’s standard visa application procedures through the official immigration online portal or designated entry points.

This development is an important step toward facilitating tourism, business, investment, cultural exchange and stronger people-to-people relations between Nigeria and Tanzania.
